The IB Diploma Programme assessment measures one’s abilities in analysing, writing, evaluating and constructing arguments as well as creative problem solving. Test-takers are assessed based on their performance against set standards rather than positioning in the overall rank order.

The IB involves six subject groups and the IB core which consists of Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Action, Services Project and an Extended Essay.

Theory of Knowledge

The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) measures your ability to present and invoke thoughtful and purposeful inquiry on the different types of knowledge and ways of knowing. During the TOK, you will write and present on the interpretative nature of knowledge.

Creativity, Action and Service Project

For the Creativity, Action and Service Projects (CAS), you will engage in purposeful projects and activities that pose a personal challenge. The intended result is to create significant outcomes and facilitate the process of planning, reviewing and reporting.

Extended Essay

The Extended Essay is a written research on a topic that interests you. It measures your ability to develop a research question, discover the topic, express ideas and build an argument. This process fosters your ability to analyse, synthesise and evaluate knowledge.

Six Subject Groups

The six groups cover Studies in Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Mathematics and The Arts.



Bilingual Diploma

A bilingual diploma will be awarded to candidates who have finished and earned a grade 3 or higher in two languages under the Language and Literature section.

Candidates that have received a grade 3 or higher in studies in Language and Literature and a grade 3 or higher in an Individuals and Societies or Science subject, completed in a different language will also receive a bilingual diploma.
